Wellness Center at Russell Sage College
The Wellness Center offers a variety of medical and counseling services for students. Our staff includes nurse practitioners and licensed mental health professionals. The goal of the Wellness Center is to assist students in reaching their optimal level of health and wellness through direct treatment and prevention.
The Wellness Center is open to any student — undergraduate or graduate — who is registered for classes. Most services are free for all Russell Sage College students. You do not need to have Sage Health Insurance to be seen at the Wellness Center.
Support Services for Students

Health Services
Health services include sick visits, physicals, gynecological visits and more. The staff considers a student’s diet, exercise, lifestyle, environment and mental health before suggesting a path to wellness. The nurse practitioners work in collaboration with a physician. Referrals are given as needed.
Note: Appointments are preferred for health services and non-crisis counseling services. Walk-ins are accepted depending on availability.
Counseling Services
The Russell Sage College Wellness Center Counseling Services provides short-term individual and couples counseling free of charge for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.
Group counseling may also be provided according to students’ needs and interest. Students who require more long-term or intensive services will be referred to community providers.
Counseling services are provided by a staff of New York state licensed mental health professionals and supervised graduate-level interns.
A Note Regarding Allergies
Because of the limited emergency equipment and limited physician hours in the Wellness Center, allergy injections are not provided. Students who require allergy desensitization will be referred to their own allergist for treatment if that agency is local, or referred to a local allergist for injections. Students are responsible for their own appointments and transportation.
