About Tori Reinhard
What attracted you to Russell Sage and your academic program?
I was attracted to Russell Sage because it is local college and I have heard great things about their masters programs. The Criminal Justice and Community Corrections master’s program stood out to me because it is the only master’s program in the country that focuses on community corrections, and it is fully online. I have always wanted to work in the criminal justice system, and this program is providing me with the education I need to do that.
What have you found most valuable about your Russell Sage educational experience so far?
I have found the connections that I am making in the community because of this program the most valuable. We have individuals from the field zoom with our cohort and talk about job opportunities and what to expect in the field. We also have been invited to attend community-based justice workshops, where individuals from the field spread awareness about community corrections and explain what services they provide.
Anything else we should know related to Russell Sage or your experiences here?
There is a sense of community here. Whether you are an undergrad, graduate student, faculty, or staff, there is always someone smiling at you when you walk by on campus. I work full time on the Troy campus in the mailroom, and I am also completing my master’s in the Criminal Justice and Community Corrections program and have loved every minute of my time at Russell Sage.
