About John Watts

I am a retired Chief Probation Officer with 20 years of experience working at the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, Court Support Service Division (CSSD). I am a national trainer and consultant with Policy Research Associates and the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP), and I’ve trained police, corrections, and community supervision officers in trauma-informed practices.

In my classroom, I want my students to experience a dynamic, enriching learning environment that combines critical thinking with practical applications and empathy. Through active participation and rigorous analysis, I aim to cultivate their ability to scrutinize complex issues within the community supervision field.
