About Bradley Heinke

“There is so much power in learning how to use the arts to help heal,” said Bradley Heinke, who completed a bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts in Therapy at Russell Sage College in 2022.

Now, she is complementing her art therapy degree with a master’s degree in Professional School Counseling at Sage’s Esteves School of Education.

“I would like to work with kids as either a school counselor or a case manager,” she said.

She said the Creative Arts in Therapy curriculum provided a great mix of in-classroom learning coupled with internships and practicums with different populations.

Student life at Sage has been another important facet of her education.

Bradley is an RA, served as president of the Class of 2022 and vice president of the Creative Art Therapy Club, and was a member of Sage’s Dance Ensemble and Democracy Matters.

“My extracurriculars, especially my positions as an RA and class president, provided me with bonus learning experiences,” she said.

In these roles, she worked closely with Director of Residence Life Grace Giancola and Director of Student Activities Diane Angrisano and named them, along with the Wellness Center’s Jane Roodenburg, as some of the people at Sage who supported her success as an undergraduate.

“I really appreciate all the advice, encouragement, and the unconditional support from them these past four years,” she said.

As a graduate student, she’ll continue to work as an RA and is also excited to remain involved in Student Activities, this time as the office’s graduate assistant.

“I will be able to continue two of my favorite things I did in undergrad into my graduate school career!”
