Economic impact of Russell Sage College totaling $102.8 million for 2022-23, with breakdowns of institution and student impacts

The Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities in New York published a report for private, nonprofit colleges and universities in New York state who had a significant economic impact on their communities. 

Russell Sage College’s total economic impact in 2022-23 reached $102.8 million – $82.1 million attributed to institutional impact and $20.7 million resulted from student and visitor impact. 

Institution Impact includes spending on research, construction, instruction, technology, salaries, and any other operating expenses. While Student and Visitor Impact includes discretionary spending by students combined with money spent by campus visitors attending events and other campus activities. 

In addition, Russell Sage College supported 800 jobs – including full-time, part-time, and student employees. 400 of the employees are on campus, resulting in a combined payroll of $34.1 million.
