2020 Event Cancelled, But Freihofer’s Run for Women Will Continue to Support Scholarships for Sage Students

Freihofer's Run for Women Expo

The Freihofer’s Run for Women Health and Fitness Expo, a companion event to the Freihofer’s Run for Women, will return to the Russell Sage College campus in Albany in 2021. The event, which attracts more than 4,500 runners and their families and friends, has been held on Sage’s Albany campus since 2017.

Freihofer’s Run for Women has annually awarded two scholarships to Sage students in conjunction with the Expo. While the 2020 Health and Fitness Expo has been cancelled due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, Expo Director and Race Co-director Kristen Hislop said “Freihofer’s Run for Women is pleased to honor our commitment and excited to award scholarships to Sage students once again this year. These scholarships will be targeted for female students studying Nursing or Public Health.”

“I’m thrilled that Freihofer’s Run for Women is continuing to support Sage students,” said Assistant Professor of Public Health and race volunteer Dayna M. Maniccia, DrPH, MS. “Their commitment to health and wellness is admirable as is their acknowledgement of the role of public health and health care in dealing with the current situation. I am looking forward to the Health & Fitness Expo on Sage’s Albany campus in 2021.”
