About Anthony Ciampolillo
“I wanted to pursue a career where I could leave work each day knowing that I positively impacted someone’s life,” said Anthony Ciampolillo.
When Anthony researched colleges with strong health-related programs, Russell Sage College seemed ideal.
“One reason was the reputation of Sage graduates within the community,” he said. “Another reason I chose Sage was because of the small class sizes and hands-on learning experience.”
Now a junior, Anthony has enjoyed taking a mix of traditional science classes and labs and service-learning based courses that connect students with projects in the wider community.
He specifically mentioned Innovation to Engage, one of the signature classes in Sage’s general education program, and Culture and Health, a Health Sciences class that studies how biology and culture influence health and disease.
Both classes, he said, “challenged me to volunteer in communities in need and challenge my social consciousness.”
Anthony recently switched his major from Health Sciences to Nursing and appreciates the guidance he received during the transition.
“Sage takes the time to get to know students, which has benefited me along the semesters,” he said. “Every academic advisor has your best interest in mind and wants to see you be successful.”
