People with a Business Administration degree are in demand in every kind of organization across industries, for-profit or non-profit.
Classes for Business Majors
As a business major, you’ll take core courses in economics, management, marketing, information systems, human resources, accounting, finance, law, communication and strategy.
You may choose from 20+ elective courses such as sport management, sport law, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, advertising, professional selling, marketing research, corporate sustainability, organizational behavior, leadership and diversity, conflict management and mediation and more.
You may opt for a concentration in Marketing, Organizational Studies or Sport Management or to complement your business major with one of 20+ minors. You will apply what you learn in class at a professional internship that is tailored to your goals.
Faculty
Our professors are active researchers, consultants, business owners and community leaders, but they are teachers and mentors first. We keep classes small, therefore professors can offer individual attention and support that is rare in other business schools.
Business Program Distinctions
Our degree programs are accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.
You have the option to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration or a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, depending on your plans for graduate school or career. Both transfer in your previous college credits.
Bachelor of Business Administration
Students who pursue the B.B.A. are required to complete at least 30 credits in the liberal arts and sciences (of the total 120 credits for a bachelor’s degree), which allows you to take more management courses.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Students who pursue the B.S. in Business Administration complete 60 credits in the liberal arts and sciences (of the total 120 credits for a bachelor’s degree). This is a great option if you want to explore other subjects.
Careers with a Business Administration Degree
Careers
Alumni of Sage’s undergraduate management programs have been hired as a human resources manager and assistant to the CEO at Aquatic Development Group; program manager at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority; operations analyst at Ayco; program coordinator at General Electric; marketing assistant at Groff Networks; and in roles at the Office of the New York State Comptroller.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook for Business and Financial Occupations, the median annual wage for this group was $76,570 in May 2021, with employment opportunities expected to grow 7% from 2021 to 2031 (The average growth rate for all occupations is 5%, according to the Bureau.)

- Russell Sage College’s M.S. in Organization Management
- Russell Sage College’s M.S. in Health Services Administration
If you are interested in pursuing a master’s degree at Sage, you can take graduate courses in your senior year and may be eligible to get prerequisite courses waived — this means you can earn a bachelor’s degree and graduate degree in about five years.
