At Sage Professional and Continuing Studies, our evening undergraduate degree, certificate, and professional development programs are designed to meet the needs of working professionals. You can attend part-time or full-time, in the evening or a combination of day and evening classes, at a pace that supports your other life commitments.
Sage Professional and Continuing Studies offers rolling admission with terms starting in fall, spring, and summer. An admission counselor will evaluate your previous coursework and professional experience to maximize your transfer credits. We strongly encourage you to have completed at least 40 college credits or an associate’s degree, and to apply early so that we may determine your transfer credits and financial aid packaging.
Criteria
Students are admitted to Sage Professional and Continuing Studies after an evaluation of the appropriateness and amount of transferable credit and work experiences. Applicants are required to have completed 40 college-level credits in good academic standing in order to be accepted into the Sage Professional and Continuing Studies program.
Admission to Sage Professional and Continuing Studies requires a minimum a 2.00 minimum GPA. The Nursing (RN-BS) and Pre-Medical Studies (post-baccalaureate certificate) programs require a 3.00 minimum GPA.
Deadlines
Russell Sage College offers rolling admission with start terms in fall, spring, and summer. However, for some Professional School majors it is recommended that students begin with the fall term. In general, application is encouraged well in advance to the start of each term, so that there is ample time for transfer credit evaluations and financial aid packaging.
Required Application Materials
- a completed online Sage Application for admission
- official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended since high school
- a 1-2 page career goals essay
- a valid nursing license (RN) if applying to the RN to BS Nursing Program
- additional documentation for international students
Matriculation Policy
Students who have completed the admission process and gained acceptance to an undergraduate degree or certificate program will be classified as a matriculated student, are eligible for financial aid, and will be assigned a faculty advisor.
Students attending for the first time may take up to 9 credits without applying for admission to the College. To enroll in additional credits without formally applying to the College, students must declare Visiting Student status.
Visiting Student Status (Non-Matriculation)
Visiting Students are those who do not intend to earn a certificate or degree from Sage. They are not eligible for financial aid and are not assigned an academic advisor. Credits accumulated as a visiting student may not count toward a certificate or degree program.
