What is an Organizational Studies Degree?

Our Organizational Studies degree is for adult students who have an associate degree in almost any field, and want to earn a business bachelor’s degree to prepare for a leadership position or a promotion.

Examples of associate degrees that transfer seamlessly into our Bachelor of Professional Studies program include the AAS in Health Information Management & Technology, AAS in Semiconductor & Manufacturing Technology, AAS in Dental Hygiene and AS or AAS in Information Technology, and degrees in other technical, liberal arts, business, general studies or health care fields.

We are proud that Russell Sage College was named a Top Destination for Transfer Students by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Our transfer-friendly policies, experience serving non-traditional students, small classes and transfer scholarships are all attractive to returning adult students.

What Classes do Organizational Studies Majors Take?

As an Organizational Studies major, you will study leadership and management in classes like Leadership and Diversity; Conflict Management and Mediation; Human Resource Management; and Organizational Development and you’ll take core business classes in finance, accounting and business law.

You’ll be able to apply your new knowledge in your work right away — and you’ll be encouraged to see the classroom as an organizational development lab, where you work in teams to analyze current workplace practices and systems and propose improvements.

You will learn from professors with doctorates in management disciplines and from directors of state agencies, business owners and chief officers in financial, health care and technology fields.

And you will be able to take evening, online, weekend and reduced-seat time courses.
