About Demaxia Wray

Why did you choose to enroll in the M.S. in Criminal Justice and Community Corrections program at Russell Sage College?

After completing my undergraduate degree, I was unsure whether pursuing a master’s degree was a good idea or not. I was concerned that it might be a waste of time and money.

However, I am now working as a program manager for a criminal justice association, and I couldn’t have made a better decision to return to school. The Criminal Justice and Community Corrections program is an innovative and modern approach to the emerging challenges in the justice system. It allows me to learn asynchronously with like-minded individuals from professors who are knowledgeable and passionate about the justice sector. Choosing to continue my education at my alma mater felt like coming back home, but this time, I will be leaving with more knowledge and confidence in the information I have gained.

This program is great for someone who appreciates flexibility in their learning style but also requires discipline. Though it is a virtual format, my professors and peers have created an environment where we can still stay connected!
