Russell Sage College has partnered with Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) to provide medical services to ACPHS students on our Albany and Troy campuses.

“This collaboration has provided RSC the ability to do away with the nominal charges that students used to incur for over-the-counter products at the Wellness Center,” said Tawana Davis, associate vice president for student life for student wellness at Russell Sage College. “We are able to provide them at no cost to all students. During the first few weeks of classes, we have noticed that both Wellness Centers have been very busy, and most patients are still able to be seen either the same day or within a day or so. We have achieved this by hiring an additional staff person in the Wellness Center.”

The Russell Sage College wellness centers take a holistic approach, integrating medical and mental health, Davis said. Often, students arrive for one reason, and wellness center staff realize other treatment may be warranted, she said. For ACPHS students who need mental health referrals, the wellness centers will connect them to the ACPHS Office of Counseling and Wellness.

Services at Russell Sage’s wellness centers are free to ACPHS students and are covered by the ACPHS student health and wellness fee. Referrals to specialists or laboratories require payment through health insurance or other means.

“This partnership with Russell Sage College makes sense economically and helps us efficiently fill a gap in on-campus health services, enhancing the ACPHS experience for our students,” said ACPHS Vice President of Student Experience John Felio.
