At Russell Sage College, Academic Advising is an Essential Service and is a Form of Teaching.

The Office of Academic Advising assists undergraduate students and faculty advisors with understanding academic policies and procedures, registration timelines, degree requirements, and graduation planning. We also provide support to students who need help with Student Planning functions and exploring major programs and minors.

Faculty Advisors

  • Each student is assigned a Faculty Advisor from their major department, “Faculty Advisor (major)”. Faculty Advisors assist students with educational planning, academic problem solving, and graduation requirements & timeline
  • The Faculty Advisor (major) is the student’s primary academic advisor
  • The Faculty Advisor’s name and contact information is listed in Self Service – Student Planning – My Progress. On the My Progress main page in the At a Glance section, click on the blue Show Program Notes link
  • Faculty Advisors are experts in their field who recommend courses, experiences, and campus resources, to help students achieve their goals.

*Graduate students utilize the program of study for course planning. For advising assistance students contact their their assigned faculty advisor and/or the graduate program directors.
